 These
atolls are located at the northern end of the Marshall
Islands. Majuro, as the capital atoll of the Marshall
Islands, houses the central government, most of the
country's businesses, and an estimated 50 percent of the
country's population.
The waters of Majuro Atoll are typical of the
waters of the Marshall Islands. From the coral
pinnacles that rise from the bottom at varying depths,
to the nearly 800 species of fish that inhabit it's
waters, the lagoon offers a wealth of opportunity for snorkelers and divers. |
Divers
can drift dive the northern reef or explore the coral
laden walls along the edges of the atoll. Hard and soft
corals are abundant throughout the waters of the atoll
and schools of snapper, triggerfish, barracuda and reef
dwellers provide the perfect backdrop for underwater
photographers. 
As
a jumping off point to many of the outer islands and
atolls, Majuro should not be overlooked for its richness
in ocean life as well as an opportunity to buy local
